Virginia Brooks Studio: Sanctuary from the Tuscany & Provence Gallery.

Around Carefree
I am entertaining more and more tour groups from the area's resorts. Visitors often come with a tour director, but I also get calls from individuals who enjoy seeing a working studio. I am a year-round resident, and my studio is open whenever I am home. Feel free to call for information on what a visit could offer your group.

I also do demonstrations and talks for local groups. I am a vivacious speaker, for someone who lives the solitary life of an artist!

Several years ago I decided that it would be fun to bring professional artists into the art classrooms of our local high school. The idea rapidly grew into a program that was much in demand. In May I was delighted to receive the "Helping Us Grow" award as volunteer of the year for our district's high school. It is a very worthwhile program and I'm always looking for volunteers. If you would like more information, please contact me.

My Studio Garden Wins an Award
There is more to see at my studio than just the art! My studio garden was recently named Garden of the Month in the Arizona Republic newspaper. My courtyard and flower beds are quite eclectic. I have included things from my travels: a lobster trap from Maine, a child's wagon from France, and driftwood from both coasts. I have encouraged the birds and butterflies, and I often have a visiting bobcat who suns himself on my garden wall. My studio visitors now include members of the valley's Garden Clubs!
